The Oldest Boy Scout Camp in Texas!

Also known as Boy Scout Camp Billy Sowell, this camp is nestled in the southern tip of Dallas that offers a variety of scouting opportunities. Camp Wisdom combines the rustic past of being the oldest Boy Scout Camp in the state of Texas to the most updated facilities for Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venturing. Whatever the event Camp Wisdom will meet your needs for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing.

Camp Wisdom is the only Camp in Circle 10 Council that has a Cub World that caters to the Cub Scouts and their families with a variety of activities to participate in. Cub World is one of a kind program theme elements such as Fort Farrington, Ye Olde Sir Dee Brown Castle, Look Out Mountain and Old Daddy Wisdom Mystical Mine, Southwest Airline Freedom Flight Space Station, Captain’s Cove, Mikanakawa Village, Cub World Activities Center and the GE Nature Center. Cub World provides program helps for each one of the main elements. Cub World also has overnight campsites named to for each the different elements. Each campsite has a latrine with separate facilities for males and females. They each have cold-water shower facility. BALOO training is a special training to help leaders better prepares for their adventure to Cub World and the great out doors. Our reservation department at the Council office will answer all your questions and even help you fill out your reservation forms.

From Dallas, go south on US 67, Exit I-20 West to Cedar Ridge Road, turn right (north) to Red Bird Lane, left ½ mile to camp entrance, from Council Service Center 25 minutes driving time.
